Anonymous asked: hello there! :) can you write for me "valve" in hangul? my friend needs your help on this for her linguistic assignment. thank you!
hey! oh a linguistic assignment? what a coincidence im a linguistics major! :D but anyways in Hangul “valve” would be written like “밸브 (bael-beu)”. Tell her good luck on her assignment!
Anonymous asked: Not so much a question as much as it is something to note...I can semi-read Hangul and I was watching the episode of Family Guy "Killer Queen" when I noted some random Hangul. In the scene where the hot dog eating contest is beginning, a person can be seen holding a sign reading 괴물 (goemul or monster). This is funny because the hot dog eating champion is named Charles Yamamoto, which is a Japanese name. I think the character is (loosely) based on Takeru Kobayashi, the Japanese competitive eater.
Interesting anon! I think I’ve seen the episode but I never noticed the sign with Hangul. Maybe it’s just describing the eaters as being monsters because they eat so many hotdogs? lol idk but thanks for sharing this discovery hehe
